Rev. Henry H. Crisler, III

Savannah The Reverend Henry Herbert Crisler III died Wednesday at St. Joseph ’s Hospital. Born in Port Gibson, Mississippi, 29 th December 1921, he studied English at Millsaps College BA 1943, and served in the Army from 1943 to1946. He studied divinity at the University of the South BD 1953, and in 1953 was ordained as deacon and priest in the Episcopal Church. He served as Rector or priest-in-charge of several parishes in the dioceses of Mississippi, Louisiana, and New York. In 1977 he received his Master of Social Work from Fordham University; and was Honorary Priest Associate at St. John’s Church in Savannah from 1999 until his death. He is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years, Joyce Jourdan-Moise, her children and grand-children, his sister Harriet Mayer, and numerous nieces and nephews.
